  • 3rd Sep, 2023 - Overall boys singles winner: Levi Marks walked away with a R 5, 000.00 Trio Truck voucher after defeating Dylan Van Rensburg 6-4 6-2. Dylan deservedly won a R 2, 500.00 Trio Truck voucher for runner-up. The semi-finalists each received a R 1, 250.00 Trio Truck voucher. 3rd place: Evan Swart defeated Elandre van Loggerenberg 6-1 6-1.

  • 3rd Sep, 2023 - Team Rounders defeated Team Alcatraz in the final play-off doubles, after the singles were tied 1-1.

  • 29th Aug, 2023 - Tournament briefing will be held at 13:30 on Friday at Telesto Clay Court Centre. The tournament will start with doubles, with play scheduled to commence at 14:00.   The intention of the organisers is to maximise time on the court, and to give each participant as many competitive matches as we can fit into the schedule over the course of the weekend.  

  • 29th Aug, 2023 - Hi everyone, the weather forecast for this weekend has improved quite a lot, with good conditions predicted for the whole of Saturday and Sunday, and rain forecast only for Friday morning. I will keep a close eye on the weather and communicate accordingly. Given this, we will hold off on the final draws as late as possible.

For high-performance junior tennis players.

Participation by invite only.
Played at Telesto Clay Court Centre in George, on ATP standard professional sized clay courts.
Coaching allowed at set-change overs.

Courts open for practice on Friday 08:00 and Saturday/Sunday mornings at 07:00.

Format:
Combined Individual and Teams competition.
Boys playing in three teams, earning wins for individual as well as team points.
Each player to play minimum four singles and one doubles match (weather permitting).

Draws will be published on or before Noon on Monday 28 August 2023, following the allocation of the remaining two Wild Card places.

Overall Singles Winner.
Overall Teams Winner.
Overall Best-Allrounder (most points earned in singles and doubles).

Objective is to utilise a competitive individual & teams format to empower high-performance junior players to hone their skills, fitness and know-how, played at South Africa's premier clay court arena.

The reasons we played this tournament was to benefit from the clay conditions and ATP sized courts.
My son normally hits 2 shots, then the next one to the back fence. This weekend, he mastered longer rallies, recording the best results against some of the players that he's played against before. He stayed in longer on some of the important points. None of the points were easy points, especially with the longer courts: many points would have gone to the smasher or the volleyer on a normal hard court, but ended up in needing three or more smashes or for him to run back to get to an overhead.
So definitely, grinding longer, concentrating better and really great quality of play.
This will translate very well to his results on normal hard courts.

Well done gents.
Probably the most scenic tennis venue in the country now. Courts are superb and effort of the ground staff in maintaining throughout the weekend was well appreciated. The event itself was run without any issues, quality and amount of tennis perfect.
A real privilege to be able to be a part of the event, thank you to the organisers, owner and sponsors for making this event so special.
